How can we create classrooms and workplaces where girls and women can thrive as scientists, engineers and technology leaders?
Join us for the online guest lecture, ‘Empowering Women to Lead in STEM’, delivered by Ms Charanya Ramakrishnan from Macquarie University, on Friday, 6 March 2026 from 1:45pm to 4:00pm (Jakarta time).
This lecture will explore persistent gender gaps in STEM, particularly in leadership, and examine how early attitudes, social expectations and learning environments shape participation. Drawing on her experience as an award-winning computing academic, Dr Ramakrishnan will highlight practical strategies such as curriculum reform, mentoring programs and outreach initiatives that support and inspire female students while promoting inclusive educational practices.
The session will also discuss how teaching culture, classroom design and institutional structures influence innovation and opportunities in STEM, and why women’s leadership is essential to building fair, effective and sustainable systems across education, research and industry.
Indonesian graduates and scholars of Australian tertiary institutions are especially encouraged to attend. Please RSVP via this link by Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Due to limited places, early registration is recommended. Attendees will receive an e-certificate of participation.
