Are you a civil servant working at the national or subnational level and involved in public policy, planning or public service delivery? The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), through Australia Awards in Indonesia, in collaboration with SKALA, invites applications for the Australia Awards Short Course on Governance and Public Policy Making for Subnational Governments (Eastern Indonesia and Aceh).
This short course aims to strengthen subnational governments’ capacity in public policy making, digitisation and government administration, particularly in Eastern Indonesia and Aceh. With decentralisation presenting ongoing governance and service delivery challenges, the course focuses on improving policy formulation and implementation to support minimum service standards in key sectors such as health, education and public works, including water and sanitation.
Participants will learn from Australian and Indonesian experts through interactive workshops, case studies, site visits, simulations and peer learning. The course will explore evidence-based policy making, stakeholder engagement, public policy communication, and inclusive governance, with a strong emphasis on integrating gender equality, disability and social inclusion principles.
The program consists of a three-day Pre-Course Workshop in Indonesia, a two-week course in Australia, and a three-day Post-Course Workshop in Indonesia. Participants will also develop an Award Project to apply their learning and support improvements within their organisations.
We strongly encourage women from disadvantaged backgrounds and people with disability to apply. For more details, please visit this page.
