Digital Twins in Mining: Maximise Productivity, Safety, and Asset Performance

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Melbourne proudly presents the Digital Engineering of Australia’s Assets Seminar Series that will be held on Tuesday, 30 November 2021 at 5.00 PM AEDT.
Digital engineering solutions such as Mobility, Cloud, Sensing, Analytics, Robotics, and Security help the mining sector ensure the safety of human resources and optimise business and operational performance. While such technologies allow the industry to increase productivity and safety, their full potential is not realised, as these technologies are often introduced and implemented in isolation.
These solutions need to be integrated through a common information infrastructure called Digital Twin for a holistic digital transformation. A digital twin acts as a virtual representation of a mine that can incorporate live and historical data from various mobility, cloud, sensing, analytics, robotics, and security solutions. A digital twin helps mining businesses to monitor, forecast, and optimise their mine and the performance of all its processes and equipment.
This seminar is an opportunity to get familiar with technologies and methodologies to create digital twins and integrate other digital engineering solutions with them.
