Medicine and Health Networks Showcase Week

Join the University of Sydney for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Networks Showcase Week, celebrating the collaborations, partnerships, and research excellence – from 6 to 10 December 2021!

It will begin with the Waranara Mini-Conference which will talk about “Challenges and Opportunities in Healthcare Professions Education Research” on 6 December. This mini conference will showcase the latest developments in health professions education research as well as a special HDR session where students will present their work and/or future ideas for supportive feedback.

On 7 December, there will be FMH Networks Week Official Opening, which is a celebratory event introducing the FMH Networks announced in July 2021, and followed by the “Sydney Global Maternal and Child Health Network” – to explore how we can learn from the global experiences of COVID-19 to ensure future pandemic control policies minimise harms to children and young people. Then the last one this day is the Community and Primary Health Care Network Launch, which will discuss innovation in research and education, new models of care and a range of issues facing the Community and Primary Health Care sector in Australia today.

The third day, on 8 December will feature Sydney Health Ethics, talking about “Doing Bioethics at Sydney – the Sydney Health Ethics Network”. This launch aims to explore the diverse range of current research conducted by Sydney Heath Ethics. You will hear from a large number of their team and how they are seeking to understand and address real-world ethical issues. The next topic is about Sport and Physical Activity Research and Teaching Network (SPARTAN) – a new collaborative initiative which will connect and engage our researchers, students, educators, and strategic industry partners.

The rest of the topics include PG and ECR Cancer Research Symposium with Academic Implementation Science Network, Sydney Pain Consortium Launch, and Digital Health & Informatics Network and Sydney Pain Consortium Panel Discussion.
