Are you ready to take on the challenge of combating misinformation and disinformation? We invite you to apply for the Australia Awards Short Course ‘The Challenge of Mis and Disinformation: Fostering Information Integrity and Media Literacy in the Digital Age.’

This short course consists of workshops in Indonesia and a two-week course in Australia. It aims to empower Indonesian journalists, policy makers, activists, content creators/developers and social media influencers to address and counter misinformation and disinformation positively. Participants will delve into understanding the broader information ecosystem, exploring underlying factors driving the spread of misinformation and disinformation, and examining the intersection between human rights and efforts to counter these challenges.

Additionally, the course will cover effective methods such as investigative journalism, fact-checking, pre-bunking initiatives, community digital media, information literacy skills development, artificial intelligence tools and private-sector partnerships. Participants will also develop an Award Project to apply the knowledge gained during the program.
