Join the GEDSI Australian Alumni Network Forum: Alumni Reflection on Disability Law No. 8 of 2016

How far has Indonesia come in advancing disability-inclusive, rights-based development since the enactment of Law No. 8 of 2016? As the country marks a decade of this landmark legislation, reflections on past advocacy, policy influence and collective action offer important lessons for shaping the future of inclusive reform.

The Australian Alumni GEDSI Network invites you to join a hybrid forum titled Alumni Reflection on Disability Law No. 8 of 2016: ‘Pathways of Policy Influence and the Future of Inclusive Reform in Indonesia’.

The forum will feature a keynote address by Dr Vivi Yulaswati, Deputy for Economy and Digital Transformation at Bappenas, public orations by senior and young disability advocates, and a talk show with Australia Awards alumni and practitioners who have contributed to disability policy reform through government, academia and grassroots movements.

Participants will gain insights and engage in meaningful dialogue on disability-inclusive development through a Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) lens, and will reflect on practical pathways for policy influence and future leadership for inclusive reform in Indonesia.
