Sharing Stories through Cinema: Nobar with OzAlum 2026 Across Indonesia
The alumni network recently reunited through the ‘Nobar' with OzAlum series, a film screening program for alumni, held in Manado (8 May), Medan (13 May), Kupang (18 May) and Banjarmasin (22 May), along with ‘Screen on the Green’ in Bogor Botanical Gardens on 16 May. Each event brought alumni together to enjoy a shared cinematic experience and reconnect in a warm, engaging atmosphere.
Held as part of the Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia (FSAI), these screenings brought together alumni and friends to enjoy Australian and Indonesian stories. The program featured Australian films such as ‘Kangaroo’, ‘Beyond The Reef’ and ‘Dangerous Animals’, alongside Indonesian short films by Australia Awards alumni, including ‘Bulan At The Edge of Paradise’ and ‘Fotome’. Across cities, the events also created space for conversation and cultural exchange.
Beyond the screen, the gatherings offered opportunities to reconnect, share reflections and enjoy the experience together, strengthening connections across the alumni network.
