Join Our AAI Skills Development Session on ‘Communication and Influence for Inclusive Leadership’

How can communication strengthen leadership and help build more inclusive communities and workplaces?

Australia Awards in Indonesia, in collaboration with Macquarie University, invites you to join the upcoming AAI Masterclass Session, ‘Communication and Influence for Inclusive Leadership’, delivered by Dr Sarah Keith on Thursday, 23 July 2026, from 2.00 PM – 4.00 PM (WIB) via Zoom.

Communication is at the heart of effective leadership. Whether leading teams, engaging with communities or representing organisations, leaders are often judged by their ability to listen, connect and inspire action. For students and early-career professionals, particularly those studying or working abroad, strong communication skills are essential for navigating cultural differences, building meaningful networks and demonstrating leadership potential.

In this interactive workshop, Dr Keith will share practical tools to strengthen leadership presence and influence across diverse cultural and organisational settings. Drawing on insights from media, communication and leadership research, she will explore how inclusive leaders bring people together and foster collaboration. The session will also highlight Australia’s multicultural society as a reference point for inclusive practice while recognising broader forms of diversity, including gender and neurodiversity.

What You'll Gain

Participants will:

  • Recognise different communication styles and adapt their approach for greater impact;
  • Build influence through storytelling, empathy and authenticity;
  • Foster inclusive communication practices that strengthen collaboration and innovation; and

The session features a short presentation, real-world case studies, interactive activities, breakout discussions and a live Q&A, encouraging participants to move from reflection to practical application.
