How can we bridge differences to live together in a complex world?
Join us for the online guest lecture, ‘Beyond Borders: Living Together Amid Crisis and Complexity’, delivered by Dr Samid Suliman from Griffith University, on Friday, 3 October 2025, from 1:45pm to 4:00pm (Jakarta time).
This lecture will explore how intercultural communication can help us confront challenges such as climate change, inequality, authoritarianism, state violence and the rapid rise of AI. It critiques the limits of current paradigms and draws on insights from the humanities, social sciences and creative arts to imagine new ways of bridging differences. In our region, where political, cultural and cosmological diversity can be both a strength and a source of conflict, these questions are especially urgent and transformative.
Indonesian graduates and scholars of Australian tertiary institutions are especially encouraged to attend. Please RSVP via this link by Wednesday, 1 October 2025. Due to the limited availability of places, early registration is recommended. Attendees will receive an e-certificate for their participation.
