Australia Awards in Indonesia

The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships that provide you with high-quality educational experiences at world-class universities

About PhD and Masters Awards

The overarching goal of Australia's development program is to partner with Indonesia to boost inclusive growth and productive jobs. It aims to improve Indonesia's competitiveness by strengthening the impact of Indonesia's resources. Australia Awards Scholarships contribute to this goal by supporting human development for Indonesia's productive and healthy society.

The PhD and Masters Awards are Australia Awards Scholarships offered to the next generation of Indonesian leaders for development. Through study and research, scholars develop the skills and knowledge to drive change and help build enduring people-to-people links with Australians.

For the 2023 intake, Australia Awards prioritise Indonesians seeking to undertake studies supporting the COVID-19 Development Response Plan priority areas, namely Health Security, Stability and Economic Recovery. A complete list of priority fields is available here. The applicants will be assessed for their professional and personal qualities, academic competence and, most importantly, their potential to impact the development challenges in Indonesia.

Applications are strongly encouraged from women, people with disabilities and people from Geographic Focus Areas (currently Aceh, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, Papua, West Papua, Maluku and North Maluku). The Geographic Focus Areas may be reviewed for future rounds.
