“Digital Business Transformation: Building COVID-19 Resilience in Indonesian SMEs” – A Report by PAIR

While the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the closing of many Indonesian SMEs, it has also pushed others to adopt digital solutions and prove their capacity to be resilient and change.

This research conducted by the Partnership for Australia Indonesia Research (PAIR) – which is supported by the Australian Government and implemented by the Australia-Indonesia Centre (AIC), analysed the effectiveness of the national and Jakarta city government policies in supporting SMEs to digitally transform.

The report concludes that while SMEs have been independently proactive in adopting digital solutions to remain viable, government policy is critical to helping them take advantage of opportunities and secure their futures. This includes financially supporting businesses to enable them to set up digital systems and learn new skills.
