The Special Collections consist of many unique research collections comprising books, journals, pamphlets, and archival papers, including:

PNG & THE PACIFIC COLLECTION

The strengths of the PNG & the Pacific collection are: economics, development and trade, statistical data, governance and administration, language and linguistics, education, culture, society and history.

RADICAL LITERATURE COLLECTION

The Radical Literature collection is a useful research resource for the study of social issues related to radical groups in Australia. The majority of the material relates to the Communist Party of Australia.

RARE & VALUABLE BOOKS COLLECTION

The Rare and Valuable Books collection, also known as The Special Collection, contains mostly books about Australian literature, Australian history and Australian art. There are also some books about music, anthropology, local history and town planning, as well as few rare collector's items on European history and literature.
