Project Rationale:
For years, Posyandu have been considered the most essential mechanism to monitor the growth of children under five in Indonesia (Andriani, Liao & Kuo 2016). A Posyandu is ideally run by five community members with routine activities including measuring anthropometrics (weight, height, head and waist circumference), educating community on nutrition, immunisation, vitamin distribution, counselling and so on (Pardosi, Parr & Muhidin 2016). These activities are done in a five-table system (sistem 5 meja) (Ministry of Health 2018).
These monthly community-based initiatives play an important role in detecting children at risk of growth faltering, including stunting (Andriani, Liao & Kuo 2016). Childhood stunting is becoming a major challenge in Indonesia. Indonesia Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018 reported the prevalence of stunted children remains high (30.8 percent), and that East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) has among the highest rate (Ministry of Health 2018).
