Launch of the 2018 NSW Government Seminar Series for Australia Awards

Awardees from Indonesia, Cambodia, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines participated in the launch of the NSW Government Australia Awards Seminar Series in March 2018. Hosted by the NSW Department of Industry through Study NSW in collaboration with Australia Awards, the Series has commenced its second year of delivery.  Toshi Kawaguci from the Department of Industry welcomed the Indonesian Consul General Bp Hartanto Subolo and the DFAT NSW State Director Rhonda Piggott to address awardees and NSW Government representatives gathered at the Parliament of NSW.

The Seminar Series introduces awardees to State Government explaining how Government at the Federal, State and local level operates.  Subsequent sessions will introduce approximately 60 participants to government projects through a combination of seminars and site visits.  Typically conducted over a half day, once per month, awardees have plenty of opportunity to ask questions of the presenters.  Feedback from the 2017 Seminar Series was particularly positive, with participants following up with NSW Government contacts made through the Seminar Series and a number participating in volunteering activities through Study NSW. The 2018 Seminar Series concludes in August at a ceremony at the Parliament of NSW.
