Join Our Lecture on “Advancing Gender Equality at Work: The Possibilities of 'Next Generation' Positive Duties”

Are you interested in learning more about gender equality at work? Join our online lecture on Friday, 10 March, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Jakarta time and gain insight into the topic with Associate Professor Alysia Blackham from the University of Melbourne.

Governments and employers are increasingly focusing on how they can better advance gender equality in the workplace. Gender equality is essential in its own right for advancing fairness and is associated with increased national productivity and economic growth. Prohibiting discrimination at work is not enough; instead, advancing gender equality requires proactive measures addressing the root causes of inequality. In Victoria, Australia, the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) has been introduced as a 'next generation' positive equality duty designed to proactively advance equality in the public sector. Drawing on research on the Act's implementation, this presentation considers the possibilities and potential of using 'next generation' positive equality duties to advance gender equality at work.

The e-certificate for participation is available. If you are interested in attending this event, RSVP by 9 March at this link. Click here for more information about the online lecture and Associate Professor Alysia Blackham.
