A New Chapter in Film Industry: 25 Indonesian Creatives Complete Australia Awards Short Course

The Australia Awards Short Course ‘At the Forefront of Film: Screenwriting and Directing’ recently concluded with a post-course workshop in Jakarta, wrapping up an intensive journey for 25 Indonesian film professionals.

Building on the insights gained during their course at Griffith University in Australia, participants had the opportunity to visit the Australian Embassy in Indonesia, where they presented their Award Projects at the Purnululu Theatre. They showcased their refined skills in scriptwriting and directing while also exploring the economic value of the film sector and potential partnerships with Australian filmmakers.

As participant Zulverdi Amos Solaiman shared, ‘This Short Course is not just a great way to learn world standard filmmaking, but also to build networks with Australian filmmakers. All the knowledge and materials presented are very practical and relevant for our film industry.’

With fresh perspectives and stronger networks, these filmmakers are ready to shape Indonesia’s screen storytelling landscape. We can’t wait to see what they do next!
