Project leader: Ms. Maria Natashia Kusnardi
Level of education and university: Non Degree, Start-Up Ecosystems Short Term Award, Flinders University
Collaborating Organisations: -
Project Location: Villages in Bali
Activity Type: Training, workshop or seminar
Sector: Small and medium enterprise development, Economics, Trade
Project Rationale:
Women play an important role in the waste management sector. In most cases, they build their inner groups in the community as supporting actors in waste separation activities. However, very few of them are able to develop these activities into a business. Only 23% of SMEs are owned by women, this is because most access to capital, time and opportunities for learning are still rarely accessible for women, which affects their readiness to start a business. We see an opportunity to address the issue of waste management by assisting more women to become leading entrepreneurs in the recycling supply chain.
Project Beneficiaries:
20 housewives in rural areas of Bali
Priority Development Area:
Economic Recovery
