Collaborating Organisations: Polytechnic Batam (Animation Department)

Project Location: The Batik Girl animation series will be produced at Polytechnic Batam. The promotional campaigns for the animation series will be held in Batam.

Project Rationale:

One of the aims of Batik Girl is to prevent the younger generation from using drugs. Since 2016, we have been taking the Batik Girl Roadshow to Australia every year. Then when the pandemic happened in 2020 we were unable to  do the roadshow in Australia. In fact during this pandemic, drug cases in Indonesia increased exponentially. That is why our team are trying to innovate to enable a sustainable Batik Girl program. We decided to make the Batik Girl Animation series in order to achieve our goals.

The problem or need that we will address:

  • Drug problem in the younger generation
  • Helping women inmates through the Cinderella Indonesia Foundation.
  • Building connection between Indonesian university and Australian university students
  • Promote Bahasa Indonesia to Australian university students
  • Maintain relationships between Indonesian organisations and Australian organisations

Project Beneficiaries:

  • Production of animation series: 20-30 students
  • Campaign in Indonesia : 500 university students
  • Campaign in Australia : 500 university students
